Sam Fender has lowered the maximum price for standing tickets at Wembley Stadium to 98.85 pounds. The 32 year old singer confirmed the change on Instagram following a wave of criticism over the initial pricing for his Proper Massive tour. The new figure replaces the previous front standing price of 130.75 pounds.

The dispute began earlier this week when the tour was announced. A user named Gavin Davis posted the ticket listing on social media, drawing attention to the price difference between standing zones. The original structure offered front standing seats for 130.75 pounds and standard standing seats for 98.85 pounds. Seated tickets ranged from 64.75 pounds to 130.75 pounds. Fender replied to the post, stating that the initial prices were higher than he intended. He said that ticket costs should only cover the production expenses and not generate extra profit for ticketing partners.

Fender also rejected the split between front and back standing areas. He called the practice "bollocks" and said it would not be used for his shows. He expressed surprise that the system had become a standard in live music.

The high prices were not unique to London. Ticket listings for other UK cities also showed standing prices over 100 pounds. The highest prices were in Edinburgh at 120.95 pounds and Manchester at 119.60 pounds. Cardiff listed top tickets at 119 pounds, while Newcastle reached 112.90 pounds.

General sales for the tour open on Friday, with a presale starting on Wednesday morning. The concerts will take place across the summer of 2027. Venues include St James’s Park in Newcastle, the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Marley Park in Dublin, Murrayfield in Edinburgh, and the Etihad Stadium in Manchester.

Fender is part of a group of artists who have addressed high ticket costs recently. In August, Swedish pop singer Zara Larsson posted a video saying she agreed with fans that her Bangkok tickets were expensive. She said she wanted a greater role in setting prices because the cost kept people from attending her shows.

The tour announcement came as Fender confirmed that a fourth studio album is in production. He has not released the title or cover art for the record. The project follows his 2025 album People Watching, which won a Mercury prize. The singer has also won five Brit awards. His duet with Olivia Dean, Rein Me In, won the 2026 Brit award for song of the year. The song spent 23 weeks at number one, making it the longest running number one single in British history.
