Nevada Health Link opened enrollment on Sunday for coverage beginning in 2027. The state’s official marketplace is now accepting applications through January 15. This annual window allows residents to select or switch health insurance plans without requiring a qualifying life event.
The marketplace lists more than 130 qualified health plans from nine insurance carriers. It also includes 14 dental plans from four dental providers. Janel Davis, the executive officer of Nevada Health Link, noted that this period is the only time each year when individuals can make these changes. She urged residents to spend a few minutes reviewing their available options.
Financial assistance plays a central role in the marketplace. Officials stated that Nevada Health Link is the sole resource where residents can determine eligibility for subsidies that reduce monthly premiums or out-of-pocket expenses on private plans. According to the agency, nearly 80% of those who enroll qualify for such financial savings. The agency advises current enrollees to verify their account details and compare 2027 plan prices, as costs and coverage terms fluctuate annually.
A specific tier of plans known as Battle Born State Plans returns for its second year. These policies are designed to further lower monthly premium costs. They are available statewide through three carriers: Health Plan of Nevada, Anthem, and SilverSummit. The latter operates under the brand name Ambetter. Davis said the agency provides free local assistance through certified brokers, navigators, and call center staff to help families find suitable coverage.
To support the enrollment period, the Nevada Health Link call center has extended its operating hours. The center is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., excluding holidays. Residents can dial 1-800-547-2927 for help with applications and plan comparisons. Online tools for comparing plans and starting enrollment are available at NevadaHealthLink.com.
Coverage for any selected plan begins on January 1, 2027. To secure that start date, applicants must complete their enrollment by 11:59 p.m. on December 31, 2026. The marketplace serves individuals who do not receive affordable health coverage through an employer, Medicaid, or Medicare.
