The Associated Students of California State San Bernardino (ASI) has formalized the structure of its student government through ten standing committees. These bodies operate under the corporation's approved bylaws and policies, with a one-year appointment term spanning from June 1, 2026, to May 31, 2027. Each committee holds specific authority over distinct areas of campus life, from financial oversight to legislative advocacy.

The Activities Committee, led by Productions Manager Johan Rosales, holds the power to approve programming requests exceeding $6,000. This authority applies to events utilizing the Activities and Special Events account. The committee organizes educational, social, and cross-cultural events to increase the student union's visibility on campus. Rosales can be reached at asi-programs@csusb.edu for inquiries regarding meeting times and materials.

Financial oversight rests with the Finance Committee, chaired by Vice President of Finance Alberto Fernandez. This group reviews the annual budget prepared by the Chief Financial Officer. It also prepares recommendations for the ASI Board of Directors (BoD) regarding all allocations and expenditures of corporate funds. Fernandez, reachable at asi-finance@csusb.edu, leads the review process for all financial matters.

Legislative advocacy falls to the Lobby Corps, chaired by Director of External Affairs Dhruvil Kumbani. This committee trains with other California State University students at the California Higher Education Student Summit. It organizes lobby visits with government officials at the State Capitol to advocate for higher education matters at local and state levels. Kumbani, who also chairs the Policy Committee, serves as the point of contact at asi-dea@csusb.edu.

The Executive Committee, chaired by ASI President Amira Shalabi, handles emergency matters that cannot wait for the next regularly scheduled BoD meeting. Actions taken by this committee must be reported to the full board at its next session. The committee is prohibited from acting in areas specifically reserved for the BoD under Article III, Section 1, Subsection D of the bylaws. Shalabi can be contacted at asi-president@csusb.edu.

The Elections Committee is responsible for conducting student government elections in accordance with ASI bylaws. It ensures a fair process by recruiting, reviewing violations, and resolving disputes. The chair for the 2026-27 term is currently listed as TBD. Other key roles include Dante Ramirez, Vice President of Palm Desert Campus, who chairs the PDC Advisory Committee. This group reviews matters specific to the Palm Desert Campus, including its budget and event planning. Ramirez serves as the contact at asi-pdc@csusb.edu.

Personnel and development issues are managed by Samantha Coronado, the Executive Vice President. She chairs both the Personnel & Development Committee and the Vacancy Committee. The Personnel & Development group creates development opportunities for student leaders and recommends initiatives to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion. The Vacancy Committee fills open seats on the BoD by reviewing applications, conducting interviews, and mentoring newly appointed members. Coronado is reachable at asi-exvp@csusb.edu.

Abigail Ochoa, the Sustainability Coordinator, chairs the Sustainability Committee. This body prepares recommendations on sustainability measures and works with campus partners to promote environmental efforts through education and community dialogue. Ochoa serves as the contact for this group at asi-sustainability@csusb.edu. The Policy Committee, also chaired by Dhruvil Kumbani, reviews and amends corporate policies and bylaws. Any amendments must be brought to the BoD for final approval, and the committee has the authority to create new policy recommendations.
