Las Vegas Sphere: Rocky Horror Movie Gets Immersive 2027 Debut

Sphere Entertainment announced plans to bring The Rocky Horror Picture Show to Las Vegas in 2027. The company will transform the 1975 musical film into a large-scale immersive attraction at its Las Vegas venue. This new production marks the next major addition to the venue's portfolio of original experiences.

Sphere Studios is developing the project in partnership with Primary Wave Music and 20th Century Studios. The adaptation will use the venue's proprietary visual and audio technology. The production aims to reimagine the film while keeping the audience participation elements that defined the original movie.

Jim Dolan, Executive Chairman and CEO of Sphere Entertainment, said the project pushes the boundaries of technology and storytelling. He stated, “Since The Rocky Horror Picture Show premiered in 1975, it redefined audience participation and became a cultural phenomenon.” Dolan added that Sphere offers a chance to take that spirit of immersion to an entirely new level.

The new show will join Postcard from Earth and The Wizard of Oz at Sphere in the venue's portfolio. The Wizard of Oz at Sphere recently launched after adapting the classic film for the venue's sensory capabilities. The Rocky Horror production will become the latest effort to bring the film to new audiences using enhanced storytelling tools.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show originally released in 1975 starred Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon, and Barry Bostwick. The film started as a modest box office performer but evolved into a midnight movie institution. It generated generations of devoted fans known for elaborate costumes and interactive traditions during screenings.

Sphere Entertainment has not yet released a specific opening date or ticket pricing details. The company will continue to develop the production through its partnership with Primary Wave Music and 20th Century Studios. More information will be available on thesphere.com as the project moves toward its 2027 debut.
