USC head coach Lincoln Riley shouted expletives at Ohio State coaching staff members during a chaotic postgame scene at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on Saturday night. The incident happened shortly after the Trojans defeated the No. 2 ranked Buckeyes, 30-18, in a Halloween matchup.
Video captured by Columbus-based reporter Nicole Shearin shows Riley yelling, “Are you kidding me? F, k you!” and “That’s bulls, t” at passing Ohio State staffers near the stadium tunnel. Riley appeared to be moving through a security checkpoint with his family when several Buckeyes staff members were allowed to pass ahead of him. One Ohio State staffer stopped to attempt to defuse the situation, while another spoke inaudibly. Riley continued walking with his family without engaging further.
The confrontation unfolded as thousands of USC fans stormed the rain-soaked field. The influx created a logistical challenge for security personnel tasked with escorting players, coaches, and their families into the locker rooms. Trojans quarterback Jayden Maiava was seen helping security manage the crowd.
In the video, injured Ohio State defensive end Eddrick Houston is seen limping toward the tunnel with assistance from a staff member. Another Buckeyes staffer demands that security allow them through. Ohio State head coach Ryan Day waits nearby for his personnel to clear the congestion.
The scene provided a combustible ending to a highly anticipated game that featured players arguing before kickoff. The upset marked the largest victory of Riley's USC coaching career.
