Residents in Los Angeles County went to the polls on Tuesday to decide on a sprawling slate of local contests. The ballot included the race for the mayor of the city of Los Angeles, a challenge to the county sheriff, and numerous seats on city councils across the region. Voters also weighed in on multiple local measures covering school funding, city governance, and other municipal issues.

The election cycle follows the standard November general election schedule in California. In the city of Los Angeles, Karen Bass and Nithya Raman competed for the mayoral seat. For the city attorney position, John McKinney ran against Marissa Roy. Contests for City Council District 3 and District 9 also took place, featuring Timothy Gaspar against Barri Girvan in District 3 and Estuardo Mazariegos against Jose Ugarte in District 9.

A major contest in the county involved Sheriff Robert Luna, who faced his predecessor, Alex Villanueva. Both candidates appeared on the ballot for the countywide office. The sheriff's race is one of the few countywide positions on the ballot this year, alongside two specific county measures, Measure A and Measure E.

Beyond the county seat, voters in numerous smaller cities elected officials. In Compton, Emma Sharif and Andre Spicer ran for mayor. El Monte held elections for its mayor, city treasurer, and city clerk, with Jessica Ancona, Viviana Longoria, and Christine Sarmiento competing for the top post. Inglewood voters chose from six candidates for mayor, including James Butts, Raina Carrillo, and Gloria Gray.

City council races occurred in Alhambra, Arcadia, Artesia, Azusa, Baldwin Park, Bell Gardens, Bellflower, Burbank, Carson, Claremont, Commerce, Cudahy, Culver City, Diamond Bar, Downey, Duarte, El Segundo, Glendora, Hawaiian Gardens, Hawthorne, Hermosa Beach, Huntington Park, Irwindale, La Verne, Lawndale, Lynwood, Manhattan Beach, Malibu, Maywood, Monrovia, and Montebello. Each of these cities had specific candidates listed for their open seats.

Local ballot measures were a prominent feature of the election. The city of Los Angeles alone presented seven measures to voters: EE, FD, LA, PL, PRK, PRT, and TE. The Los Angeles Unified School District included Measure SC on the ballot. Other school districts, including Bellflower Unified, Charter Oak Unified, El Rancho Unified, Glendora Unified, Hacienda La Puente Unified, Inglewood Unified, Keppel Union, Las Virgenes Unified, and Santa Monica-Malibu Unified, also had measures for voters to consider.

As of the latest updates, results for the Los Angeles mayor race were marked as too early to call. Vote percentages for all listed races and measures were displayed as zero percent, indicating that the counting process was in its initial stages. The data included detailed candidate names for each district and office across the county.

Voters in Burbank faced three separate city measures, labeled CC, CD, and C. Culver City had three measures, AA, T, and YV. Inglewood included measures AT and BB, while Huntington Park had measure HP. These local questions required voters to select yes or no for each specific proposal.

The election covered a broad geographic area, from the Pacific coast to inland valleys. Cities like Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach, and El Segundo had council races, as did inland communities like Duarte and La Verne. The ballot also included a short-term seat for Huntington Park City Council District 2, with candidates Karina Macias, Nancy Martiz, and Karina Miketta.

The results will be updated as they become available. The election results span the entire county, including the city of Los Angeles and all incorporated cities listed in the official tally.
