The Dallas Cowboys lost their third game in five weeks on Sunday, surrendering a 14-point advantage twice before falling 33-30 to the Arizona Cardinals in overtime. It was the first time in franchise history that Dallas lost after leading by 14 or more points in the fourth quarter.

The team had held a 24-10 lead with 14 minutes and 20 seconds remaining. Prior to this contest, the Cowboys were 202-0-1 at home when leading by that margin in the fourth quarter, a record that included playoff games.

Owner Jerry Jones addressed the coaching situation immediately after the final whistle. He stated that he does not see a reason to replace head coach Brian Schottenheimer midseason.

"I made a change, and I don't want to mention it because I'm not proud of it," Jones said regarding his history of midseason firings. "But I made a change with Wade Phillips there in the middle of the season, and I don't see that here."

Jones has made only one in-season coaching change in his 38 years of ownership. That occurred in 2010 when he dismissed Wade Phillips. Schottenheimer, who has guided the team to a 10-14-1 record since arriving, remains in his role for now.

The owner attributed the defeat to the entire organization rather than a single individual. "It's an indictment of the whole show," Jones said. He noted that the team failed to convert opportunities despite having players capable of winning.

Quarterback Dak Prescott agreed with the owner's assessment. He argued that blaming one person is a weak response to a collective failure. "This game is about all 11 that touch the field and every person that has a part in it," Prescott said.

Schottenheimer accepted responsibility for the loss but pointed to specific plays that went wrong. He highlighted the pass rush generated by defensive tackle Quinnen Williams in the first half as a positive takeaway from the evening.

The Cardinals offense exploited the Cowboys' defensive lapses. Running back Tyler Allgeier rushed for 147 yards on 11 carries, including a 63-yard touchdown and a 52-yard gain. He became the first player in the league this season with multiple 50-yard runs in a single game.

Backup quarterback Gardner Minshew entered the game and threw for three fourth-quarter touchdowns, a league-best total for that period. The Cowboys' defense has now allowed at least 20 points in 15 consecutive games, the longest active streak in the NFL.
