The Minnesota Class 6A regular season ended Friday night with a last-second result that reshaped the south metro playoff picture.

Lakeville South sophomore Dylan Nelson drilled a 36-yard field goal with one second remaining, lifting the Cougars to a 17-14 upset of Rosemount. The kick complicates seeding across the south metro bracket heading into the playoffs.

Roseville took the Metro Maroon subdistrict title with a 24-14 win over Coon Rapids. The Raiders finished 4-4, their best mark since 2017. Senior quarterback Chase Browning threw for 162 yards and three touchdowns. "It's an amazing feeling," Browning said. "I don't even have words for it."

Mounds View claimed the Metro East subdistrict title outright after edging White Bear Lake 22-16. Trailing by two, the Mustangs moved ahead on Tanner Jude's one-yard run with 65 seconds left, then converted a two-point try. Preston Johnson sealed it with an interception on the Bears' next possession. Mounds View's defense limited White Bear Lake quarterback Wyatt Stachowiak to six completions on 24 attempts.

Centennial routed Anoka 38-6, a result that likely locks in a No. 3 seed for the Cougars. Anoka's six points marked the first time the team was held to single digits this season. East Ridge beat Woodbury 42-31 behind two Logan Tretter rushing touchdowns and a late interception return by Elias Mather.

Forest Lake's Mack Jurkovich ran for 245 yards and two scores in a 31-13 win over Stillwater, securing a No. 2 seed. The St. Thomas commit closed the regular season with 1,600 rushing yards. Park's Manny Vargas caught a touchdown pass and returned a punt 75 yards for a score in the Wolfpack's 18-10 win over Eastview.
