Jay-Z will headline the halftime show for Super Bowl LXI, a slot that carries a reported compensation package of $30 million. The NFL, Apple Music, and the musician confirmed the announcement on Monday. The game is scheduled for Feb. 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
The booking marks the first time Jay-Z has performed at the event, despite his deep ties to the league and previous headliners. Roc Nation, his production company, has managed the halftime show since 2019. The firm recently signed a five-year extension that secures its role through 2029.
Roc Nation has shifted the performance style toward hip-hop and rap during its tenure. The 2026 show at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara featured Bad Bunny, with guest appearances by Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin. Other recent performers include Kendrick Lamar and SZA in 2025, Usher in 2024, and Rihanna in 2023.
The 2022 halftime show in Los Angeles featured Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar. Cameos by 50 Cent and Anderson .Paak also appeared in that production. Jay-Z, a 25-time Grammy winner, has spent 2026 on tour to mark the 30th anniversary of his debut album, Reasonable Doubt, and the 25th anniversary of The Blueprint.
The Jay-Z 30 Tour began in July with three nights at Yankee Stadium. The itinerary included two shows in London and one in Paris in September. The tour concluded on Oct. 23 and 24 at SoFi Stadium. Those final dates at the same venue as the upcoming Super Bowl effectively serve as a rehearsal for the February performance.
