Samsung has released a specific schedule for the One UI 9 software update in Japan. The company confirmed that 40 specific Galaxy phones and tablets will receive the Android 17-based software during the current month and next. This timeline applies strictly to devices sold in the Japanese market, though the same hardware models are expected to receive the update elsewhere.
The update began arriving in September for the Galaxy S26 series. Samsung has now expanded the list to include many previous generations. Flagship phones on the schedule include the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra. The list also covers the Galaxy S25 and S25 Ultra, as well as the Galaxy S24, S24 Ultra, S24 FE, S23, and S23 Ultra.
Foldable devices are also included in this phase. The Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6, Z Fold 5, and Z Flip 5 will all get the new software. Samsung did not leave out mid-range options. The Galaxy A57, A55, A54, A36, and A25 are all on the list for the update.
Tablet owners are included in this rollout as well. The list features the Galaxy Tab S11 and S11 Ultra, along with the S10 series including the S10+, S10 Ultra, S10 FE, S10 FE+, and S10 Lite. Older tablet models like the Tab S9 series, Tab S6 Lite (2024), Tab A11, Tab A11+/5G, and Tab Active 5 Pro are also scheduled to receive the software.
This list does not cover every Samsung device currently on the market. Notable omissions include the Plus versions of some recent flagship phones and many Galaxy A-series models. These devices, along with models sold in other regions, are not on the current schedule. Samsung has not provided a single date for all devices, but the Japanese market will see the rollout spread across two months.
The company expects to continue pushing the software globally beyond the Japanese window. Many entry-level devices are likely to be updated through December and January. Samsung will track the worldwide rollout as it progresses, with a public list available to show which devices have already received the new interface.
